Schnauzer, Poodle, Pug, Labrador, Jack Russell!!!

A weekend spent at pet movers and ericsson pet farm. It was truly an enjoyable weekend, with many breeds of dogs to see and cuddle. There were Schnauzer, Poodle, Pug, Labrador, Jack Russell... Anyone has Jack Russell puppies? Thinking of giving it away? I don't mind accepting a gift from you!

Jane was looking for a Pug, but in the end show fell in love with a Shar Pei, a bull dog and a Golden Retriever ($2800, imported from Australia).

Amanda from Singapore Pets is really friendly and knowledgeable. She explained everything about breeding to us and it was an eye opener! She told us about the danger of breeding dogs, death of puppies, c-section of dogs, blood spewing here there and everywhere...

From the pet farms, we visited Ikea (Tampines) which was a stone's throw away. Someone had to buy a Tromso Loft Bed ($199), darn cheap but you need to have high ceiling. Else, not very practical. Had lunch at the deli in Ikea, met an inconsiderate patron who hogged the seat like his father owns the place. The deli was super crowded and everyone was "chopping" seats. Here, this man was sipping his miserable cup of coffee, occupying the whole table. Should have taken his photo using my mobile phone, and disgrace him in the public blog.

Let there be LIGHT!

Two of the nicest lamps we have come across. The price tag is also very nice with many zeros behind... If you want to buy it for me, either as birthday present or christmas present or housewarming gift or father's day present or easter present or ______________ (enter your own reason), I won't turn it down. But must warn you first, it really don't come cheap...

Seat, Bench, Chair, Sofa...

Our favourite sofa, in synthetic fabric. Look at the unique legs... simply gorgeous...

Love this piece of sofa for it's minimalist design. Very low and close to the ground. Makes the ceiling of your house look higher.

Visited Air Division few days ago. The furnitures are so sleek... I was salivating inside the shop but the minute we asked the price... My whole life flashed in front of me!!! You won't believe how much each set of furniture cost. How can anyone pay so much for a stool?! These must be the Ministers who are earning millions of dollars each year.

Did not see this piece of sofa in the shop. Nice retro colour, good for rooms with Retro Theme... Maybe the study room will feature this? :-)

Turkey, Bagger, Six Pack... Whatever!

Had an eventful Saturday morning with 3 of the Ventures. Participated in district bowling competition. It was all "tears", adrenaline and excitement throughout the 3 hours.

As expected, the event started at almost 9.30am when they told us to gather at 8.15am. What do you expect from activities organised by HQ? To begin with, things started on the wrong note. How can one member from an opponent team bowl for two different names? That's quite suspicious...

After the first game, we were the leading team among the 6 teams that participated. We were on a high and really encouraged. After the second game, our team pulled ahead and widened the gap between ourselves and the second placed team. However, it was all downhill for us during the third game. (It was all Alvin's fault!) We were hoping that the team in lane 18 will slip up and let us steal the Champion trophy from under their nose, but it was not to be. Finally finished second in the team event.

My team members really excelled and played well. Way above their expectations. I guess the hardwork and practise is not wasted after all. Everyone was encouraging one another, Choy was super steady, Zhen Yi was almost like a kam-cheong spider (but he played his best-est game in the second game) and Alvin rawks (but it's still his fault that we did not win the team event!). I was lucky and did quite well for the first two games to emerge Individual Champion. But without the 3 sometimes nice, sometimes funny, sometimes encouraging, sometimes a pain in the %^@ Ventures, things would be very different.

There were no Turkeys, Baggers or Six Packs (WHATEVER... WHO CARES!) but enjoyed the session with them and hope that we'll do just as well next year... if there is a next year!

Annoyed, antagonized, furious, provoked, enraged, outraged!!!!

WHAT'S WRONG WITH TEENAGERS?
- sleeping during lectures/chapels

- forgetting to bring forms, money - after reminders x 3

- coming to school late - as late as 2 hours
- AWOL: parents' letter to cover their %#$!*&#$ when they are unwell but well enough not to see a doctor
- snatching papers from your table when you asked them to do something which they have forgotten
- 9 days of MC and 5 days of late coming for #A (80% regular attendance), 10 days of MC and 6 days of late coming for #B (76% regular attendance), 6 days of MC and 3 days of late coming for #C (87% regular attendance)

I am worried for some of these people. What kind of teenagers are they? These are the people that will eventually end up in the top University, with at least a Master's Degree. Brain = 100%, Money in bank = 100%, Attitude = 0%. When you scold/talk sense into them, they show you the face of "why-are-you-picking-on-me"?

It's always why do you wake me up from my sleep? Can't you see I am not interested in whatever the speaker is talking about? So what if I am late in bringing some forms/money that you want? It's just some unimportant piece of paper. I don't feel very well so just ask parents write letter, cannot is it? Late to school no big deal right? At least I am attending school. Better late than never...

What should I do??! Annoyed, antagonized, furious, provoked, enraged, outraged!!!!

Musical Fountain - Songs of the Sea

The new musical fountain at Sentosa was recently opened. The settings of the new musical fountain is quite impressive and therefore, I had very high expectations of what I am going to see.

The gate to the musical fountain only open at 7.20pm. However, since majority of the viewers are Singaporeans, there was a long queue even before 7pm. What's the rush among the Singaporeans? Can't they just live life at a slower pace during holidays?
When the show began, I was quite taken aback. A group of adult actors acting like children ran out of the stage. And they began singing very kiddish songs. It is such a big disappointment with all the lip sync and the poorly written script. Can you imagine them singing Chan Mali Chan?! Cannot make it...
However, I truly enjoyed the laser show. It was quite impressive and the firework hot, really hot because you can really feel the heat from where you are seated. Minus away the kiddish, childish singing and storyline, the whole show is enjoyable and totally worth the $6, for a 20 - 25 minutes show.
